Designed to enhance Japan-related programs and initiatives, providing additional resources to the educators who know best what can motivate and inspire. The Oka Fund supports professionals in going beyond the traditional classroom to foster more engagement with their students and communities, thus bolstering the resilience of their Japanese language and cultural programs.
Get Inspired
Use a grant to supplement your current resources with:
- Materials for a cultural workshop: e.g. calligraphy sets, sushi ingredients, origami paper, etc.
- Realia for the classroom: e.g. posters, calendars, books, or magazines from Japan, etc.
- Larger-scale events: e.g. International Education Week, symposia and panel discussions, festivals and community events, and more!
Award Details
$500 (min) to $3,000 (max)
Eligibility
- Project lead must be a teacher (K–12 and higher education), educational administrator, or university faculty/staff employed full- or part-time
